Betsy Jansen, CPCU, ARM
Title: Chief Executive Officer
Insurance products and programs have been a part of Colorado Nonprofit Association since its inception. In 1996, the board of Nonprofit Resources decided it was time to start an in-house agency using a for-profit subsidiary and hire their own staff rather than use contract brokers. Betsy was selected to head the developing organization because of her experience with association insurance programs.
Previously, Betsy worked for a national hardware store chain managing a separate corporation structured as an insurance agency. Under Betsy’s direction, the newly formed Nonprofit Resources started with a small staff and worked to develop liability, workers’ compensation and benefit programs. New products and programs were added, while others were discontinued. This process continues today.
As CEO, Betsy reports to the board that governs Nonprofit Resources. She is responsible for the day-to-day management and financial performance of the organization. Working closely with Colorado Nonprofit Association to provide an excellent insurance program for the members is a top priority
Betsy feels the best part of her job is the interaction with nonprofit organizations in Colorado. She volunteers for projects and serves on boards for different groups. She is active in her local Rotary Club supporting international as well as local projects.
Betsy has a degree in Business Education from the University of Wisconsin but has spent most of her career in the insurance industry. She moved to Colorado in 1987 as part of a corporate transfer. When the company moved back to the Midwest, she elected to stay and joined Nonprofit Resources. She is still a “cheesehead” and once a year returns to Wisconsin for a Packer football game. Betsy and her husband, Greg, enjoy playing golf and traveling. |
