Voluntary Supplemental Benefits
The Value of CHOICE
Offered through
Colonial Life & Accident Insurance Company
| Having a choice is important. After all, your lifestyle, your needs, are different from the next person’s. Now the choice is yours. With Colonial’s supplemental insurance programs, you can select benefits that meet your individual needs to protect what you value most. |
Short-Term Disability Coverage
- Between the ages of 35 and 65, seven out of 10 workers will suffer a disability lasting three months or longer. Colonial’s short-term disability plan provides an income to help make ends meet if you become disabled from a covered accident or illness.
Term Life Insurance and Universal Life Insurance
- Term Life provides higher amounts of life insurance at an affordable rate
- Universal Life provides level premium and cash value.
Accident Insurance
- About one in four people are injured in accidents that require medical attention. Common injuries are lacerations or fractures, resulting in high out-of-pocket expenses. Our accident plans help cover these unexpected expenses resulting from a covered on or off the job accident.
Cancer Insurance
- In the U.S., men have a one-in-two and women a one-in-three lifetime risk of developing cancer. Colonial’s cancer plan helps offset out-of-pocket costs and provides benefits for certain cancer screening tests.
Critical Illness Insurance
- Critical Illness treatment is expensive and often lengthy. Colonial’s Critical Illness plans complement major medical coverage and held pay direct and indirect costs associated with a specified critical illness.
Colonial's supplemental benefits share important
features:
- Coverage is available for your spouse and children
with most products.
- Benefits are paid directly to you, unless you
specify otherwise.
- Most benefits are fully portable when you retire
or change jobs with no increase in premiums.
- With most plans you receive benefits regardless
of any other insurance you may have.
