Volunteer
Accident Insurance
With any organizational activity, there is always
the possibility that a participant may suffer an injuryÞperhaps
just a cut, scratch or bruiseÞor perhaps something much more serious.
If an accident did occur and your organization wanted
to help pay the medical expenses, could your treasury withstand
the financial impact? In the case of serious accident, medical
expenses could easily be far in excess of the funds you have available.
A policy covering Accident Medical Expense may
be purchased to pay for necessary medical expenses incurred as
the result of injuries sustained in a covered accident. Sickness
or disease is not covered.
Lower rates are available if the policy is written
as excess coverage. This means that after the injured person has
been reimbursed for medical expenses by other insurance programs,
the Volunteer Accident policy would pay up to the maximum policy
limit.
