Workers'
Compensation
The State of Colorado requires that all organizations
that have hired employees must purchase workers' compensation insurance.
In some instances, you may also have to cover contract employees.
The benefits payable to an injured employee are determined by the
State Legislature. An injured employee must prove he was on the
job at the time of the incident; he is not required to prove the
employer is liable. The premium is based on the employee's job
requirements and salary.
Colorado NONPROFIT Association has joined forces
with Pinnacol Assurance to offer a group insurance option designed
to reduce workers' compensation costs by promoting risk management
and accident prevention plans in the workplace. Each member's premium
is based on their own individual loss experience. Member costs
under the Pinnacol Assurance group plan will never be more than
they would be as a non-participant. Services range from educational
seminars, safety programs, fraud prevention and detection to underwriting,
claims management and legal services. Premium discounts are available
to Colorado NONPROFIT Association members.
All claims should be reported immediately. To find
our more about the easy reporting of claims to go to Pinnacol and
look in the Employers' Guide. |
